ROSS

Thanks to The Bullitt and Russell Family Foundations!

The Bullitt Foundation and The Russell Family Foundation have once again stepped up to support the ROSS Initiative. The work focuses on two primary tracks:

  1. A regional scale process-oriented track: Determining how to make more strategic investments by shifting how the region sets priorities for open space and making recommendations on how to improve existing decision-making. This will require close collaboration with leaders throughout the region to understand the benefits and tradeoffs of various open space investments.
  2. Watershed Open Space Strategies (WOSSs): On-the-ground, community-based proposal development that builds on existing priorities identified by local leadership and constituencies at the watershed scale. This work results in models for future planning and a defined set of spatial strategies that can be evaluated in the context of regional challenges such as climate change or social equity considerations to inform the regional approach to prioritizing investments.

We are deeply appreciative of this financial support for our collective efforts. A huge THANK YOU to  both foundations for their investment!
